Kmart has finally brought back their $2.00 Doubles event! I remember when they used to do them once a month when I first started couponing almost 4 years ago – brings me back! I had been hearing rumors that Kmart would be doubling coupons that are $2.00 or less but was hesitant to post anything so I first asked them on their Facebook page:
I then called 3 local stores in the Western NY area (Walden ave, Hertel Ave & Military Road locations) that all confirmed that they are participating. One of the managers was very informative and even said “Now, that’s what I call a great deal!” (Walden manager). These are the “rules”:
- 5 Coupons per person will double (depending on your cashier that may mean transaction instead of person)
- All coupons with a value of $2.00 or less will double (ie. $2.00 coupon automatically deducts $4.00, $0.85 coupon deducts $1.70 etc.)
- IMPORTANT: Make sure that you have the cashier scan your Kmart “Shop your way” rewards card BEFORE anything is scanned or else the coupons will not double.
- Total must be $25.00 BEFORE coupons
Here are the specifics per Kmart in a comment that they left on their Facebook wall:
“*Participating stores only. Kmart will double manufacturer coupons with a face value of $2.00 or less. Limit 5 coupons per customer per day. Amount of credit from doubling a coupon cannot exceed thecurrent retail price of a single item. No cash or in-store purchase credit will be awarded for any amount exceeding the retail price of the item. Limit 1 coupon for each item purchased. Only 1 coupon will be doubled per item. You may only purchase 4 of the same item using double coupons. Excludes Buy One, Get One offers, Kmart Savings coupons and Kmart Store coupons. Coupons do not apply to sales tax. Offer excludes products prohibited by law, including but not limited to alcohol, tobacco, and prescription medication. Not valid on non-merchandise, federal or state regulated items, prior purchases, Lands’ End, Sears merchandise rung on Sears registers within Kmart and kmart.com. In the event of a return, coupon savings may be deducted from the refund. Exclusions apply.”

I was able to load up 4 axe shower gels, 1 axe gift set ($7.99) and 1 scope dual blast into my cart for store pickup and pay tomorrow. Awesome! I won’t even have to worry about them being gone when I get there!

Hello, when I went to smartsource.com to look for the coupons such as the crest toothpaste and the curel lotion, I couldn’t find it anywhere. Is there a certain zip code or something? Or am I missing something? Thanks!

They are actually from the Sunday Paper. The SS does stand for Smartsource but it is the Smartsource insert from Sunday papers. Next to the SS(Smartsource) or RP(Redplum) you will see a date. That is what week the coupon insert came out. You can find the date on the binding of the inserts. I hope that helps!

Hi, I just called my local Kmart to see if they doing the doubles and I asked is this 5 coupons per day or per transaction and she said per transaction so does this mean I can go back several times today ???

They haven’t had this event for a couple of years so it may have changed but you should be able to do 5 per transaction although if a manager gives you a hard time if you want to do several different transactions then there isn’t much you can say since it is supposed to be 5 per person per day. I would grab enough stuff to do a few transactions and see what happens. You can always say that you were told when you called that it was 5 per transaction and they may budge. Come back and let us know how you did!
If I can only use 5 coupons and the total before coupons is $25 does that mean I will spend at least $5 out of pocket per transaction?
Went this morning and K-Mart on Walden was a mess. They couldn’t get any coupons to scan (mine and other customers) and so they weren’t doubling creating a VERY long line of angry people. It took me 5 seconds to grab my stuff and an HOUR to ring out! My kids were getting restless. Anyhow, they ended up doubling them all manually. I checked my receipt after and it looks like she also doubled my $3 coupon, which she was not supposed to. Oh well, I’ll take the $3 after all that.
